What happens after treatment?
How long the effects of dermal fillers will last depends on the product, the area of treatment, and the patient. Generally speaking, the denser the product is and the more deeply it is injected, the longer it will last, although this is not a hard and fast rule. To maintain your results, your cosmetic surgeon will simply repeat treatment, adjusting the amount and techniques as necessary to ensure optimal results.
Hyaluronic acid fillers tend to be the most temporary option, and therefore are often recommended for first-time filler patients. These will typically last from 6 to 18 months. Injections to the lips will wear out a little faster than those to the nasolabial folds. Certain HA fillers, such as VOLUMA, are formulated to last longer, but are usually limited to certain areas, such as the cheeks.
Synthetic fillers tend to last longer, as they are not absorbed by the body. They can be a great option for the right patient, but you’ll want to be ready to commit to results that will be there for several years—and choose an experienced, qualified provider whose aesthetic style you like.

Are Dermal Fillers right for me?
This will be assessed during your complimentary consultation. There are very few contraindications to treatment but Urban Body does not treat those who are pregnant, breast feeding or under the age of 20.
Does dermal filler treatment hurt?
Dermal fillers, as all injectables, can produce minimal to mild discomfort during treatment. In a scale between 0, no pain, and 10, maximum pain ever felt, it averages between 2 and 4. Pain will subside completely once treatment is finished.
Will make-up affect my dermal filler treatment?
Before dermal filler treatment, all make-up must be removed from the area and not applied again for some time after dependent on the extent of treatment (this could be up to 12 hours).
This avoids unwanted bacteria from entering the skin via the injection sites.
How long will the results of dermal filler last?
Depending on the area of application, dermal fillers can last between 6 and 12 months. Urban Body will advice you on the timing and need for a follow-up consultation.
When will I see the results after dermal filler treatment?
With dermal fillers, results are immediate.
You will be able to see a flattering difference from how you looked prior to your treatment. Initially, there will be some localised swelling in the area treated which is completely normal. This will go down and within 2 weeks and the area will completely settle down.
Are dermal fillers safe?
Modern dermal fillers are extremely safe, so much so that no test patches are required before treatment. It is important to answer questions about medical history, medications and previous treatment accurately to ensure that you are suitable for treatment. Common complications include temporary redness and possible bruising.
