Whether you love to take a long walk, enjoy running after work, or even play golf or tennis on a weekend but are forced to stop because of nagging foot, joint pain or tight muscles, then you are likely to benefit from prescription orthotics.

What are orthotics?

We get this question a lot so we will keep it simple!

Orthotics are very much like insoles that you place inside your shoes, but they are in fact medical devices, a bit like prescription glasses.

Like prescription glasses, they are customised to each individual and offer foot support as well as correct alignment of the whole body. Being properly aligned is important for everyone.

I bought a pair of orthotics, they are brilliant! I had quite bad sciatica and I’ve had my insoles for a month, and I’ve had no pains at all. I would really recommend getting a pair, they are an absolute game changer

How can orthotics help me?

Your feet are the foundation of your body.

If your feet are in the wrong position, then so is your ankle, knee, hip and lower back, which affects your neck and shoulder position as well, and can eventually lead to pain.

Custom orthotics – The benefits:

  • Improves the mechanics of tissues and joints in your feet
  • Corrects imbalance in the unique movement patterns of your feet and alignment of the body
  • Reduces pain in the feet and other areas of stress and strain in the body such as knees, hip and back.
  • Wearing orthotics can also help to…
  • Reduce heel or arch pain and/or ‘plantar fasciitis
  • Reduce the chance of suffering from ‘Bunions’
  • Reduce the chance of being left with ‘Flatfeet’
  • Limit Corns and Callus
  • Help to avoid problems form a ‘Morton’s Neuroma’
  • Limit the damage to feet caused by Diabetes

Do I need orthotics?

There is no “right” answer for who needs orthotics and supportive footwear.

From runners, walkers, those with foot injuries and athletes, orthotics have the ability to improve everyone’s quality of life. Even those who are simply on their feet all day.

The fact is none of us have proper alignment so we all could do with some support, this may be recommended in the form of custom orthotics, physiotherapy and strengthening exercises or a combination of the two.

Why choose Urban Body for orthotics?

We care for your health and our mission is to eliminate pain and keep you doing the things you love.

Our treatment plans take into consideration feet, knee, hip, and back as well, ensuring your whole body is functioning optimally and out of any pain.

When arriving for an Orthotics Assessment, we map your feet using a 3D scanner. We then look at the position of your knees, lower back, and hips and check spinal strength, flexibility and muscle strength to see where imbalance needs correcting or additional support is required.

A bespoke orthotic insole is then created with a state-of-the-art 3D printer using soft TPU, an eco- friendly plastic which creates a very precise and breathable mould and is built to last and comes with a 10-year guarantee.

If you are still unsure whether orthotics is the answer to your pains, book a free orthotics assessment and let us help you identify the root cause of your pain.
